"Dress me up -1-2-3-4" cake

Got it ?MSN Cheeky Smile .Well, This is the same 1-2-3-4 Cake .Am I dragging this cake too far .I guess so but it just happened and trust me this is the last fancy dress of my cake ;P.Guess what my cake, she didn't like the sheer white lacy dress she was wearing (I mean the powdered sugar :P ) .She was throwing me some tantrums there like ,"Hey lady,I always pamper your sweet tooth and now it's payback turn ,I demand and request you to pamper me back ".

And she being the sweetest thing in the world,I happily obliged.I gave her a gorgeous makeover.A white creamy gown embellished in blue .

 That's a white icing, her white gown .(By the way this is my first cake I tried to ice it completely and decorate it.So,bear with me.)


Tadaaaaaa...here is my cake all dolled up .What do you think ? Does'nt she look pretty in blue ? Not that bad right? Well , did i tell you this time my cake was really happy.How do I know? well,she appeared more sweeter and tempting.;D (coz of the icing:P).





Here is a black and white version emphasizing her gown's intricate details...Hope y'all like it.That's all.

Mini Flower cake

As they say ,"All great things come in small packages". That's exactly what I think of them. To me they appear to be a mini preview of heaven , better than a full fledged cake. So inviting and cute but then how can someone feel like biting them ...cho chweet to be eaten !! I gave one mini cake to my hubby and the rest to my friend. I've guts to only admire them. Small yet ready to rock and roll.

These cakes are best for parties as a dessert or anytime right. I used mini pans and the batter from the 1-2-3-4-cake with icing in between. Heavenly!!

1-2-3-4 Cake

1-2-3-4 cake
I am crazy about cakes. Piece of cake = Slice of heaven !! Lick Lips . This cake 1-2-3-4 is the one that I made first time in my life and then most of the time I follow the same with my tweaks here and there and the reason being 1-2-3-4 represents the quantities of the "main" ingredients required for the cake and so it is so easy to remember especially for dementia-tic me as I do have my Ghajini moments (you know short term memory at times-my brain freezes & my eyes keep rolling like this->) Nervousand therefore my ultimate foolproof  "go to" cake recipe this is.My hearty thanks to the one who invented this recipe Kiss and Thank You.

Whenever I bake I always think of my mom who used to make a cake in a pressure cooker initially and then gradually in her oven but without any hand/stand mixer .. Something that I can hardly imagine but I want to learn as well!! And the cake would turn out to be super moist and yummy!! I've even heard during olden times people used to bake in a pan directly over the stove and there it was a perfect cake !Well, I guess a cooking/Baking experto can make or bake anything anywhere  irrespective of any hi-fi equipments to aid for the same. Right? 


Right now I am quite happy with this easy to bake recipe .This time it was bit skeptical yet fun .Skeptical because I wanted to dedicate this very same cake to two distinguished legend of the world -Our Father of our nation(India),Gandhi ji and Father of the digital revolution,Steve Jobs in their sweet memory.I took a print out and used them as Stencil .. The Apple came out good,was not a big deal but when it came to Gandhi ji's pic it was tough ,I drew myself later and it turned out not that bad I believe.(By the way that reminded me once I got a first prize for drawing Gandhiji at school too..yayyy Dancing with joy) .So this cake was super fun. Something different for me .I used powdered sugar on top of the cake . I also used the same batter to make mini cakes as well. So, it was like a 3 in 1 cake or Fun.

This is how I made my ek do theen char ...../1234 cake .

1234 Cake

Ingredients

Butter - 1 cup
Sugar- 2 cup
All purpose flour/Maida (Sifted) - 3 cups
Eggs-4 nos.
Baking Powder - 1 tablespoon
Milk- 1 cup
Salt- 1/2 teaspoon
Vanilla - 1 teaspoon
Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon (optional)
Pink color a drop or two (optional)


Preparation method

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Grease and put a little flour into the cake pan so that the cake doesn't stick to the pan after baking and will be easier to take it out.
  • Using a hand/stand mixer cream butter until fluffy, adding sugar gradually into it.
  • Now add eggs one by one.
  • Add all dry ingredients into it , starting and ending with flour though.
  • Add vanilla or your preferred flavor with the lemon juice finally and continue to beat until everything gets mixed properly.
  • Now pour the mixture into the greased cake pan .
  • Bake it for an hour or until done (Check by inserting a toothpick and it should come out clean).
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes and later turn it onto a cooling rack to cool completely.
  • Then frost it /ice it , decorate it or just BITE IT .Eating Pie<-like me :D
Note:
  1. I felt like eating a pink cake.. You know strange me, strange cravings already :P .. I love the pink color , almost every gal's fave color right...So I added a drop of pink color. You don't have to .It's delish whatsoever.
  2. I really don't exactly remember the recipe source as I scribbled it down long time back in my book. It was from the internet though.
