WOW prompt – ‘Bittersweet October’

When my motherland,India, is gearing up to celebrate Navaratri,Durga puja dedicated to the nine forms of Goddess Durga (Skondamata, Kusumanda, Shailaputri, Kaalratri, Brahmacharini, Maha Gauri, Katyayani, Chandraghanta and Siddhidatri) and the victory of good over evil ,the wonderland,US is gearing up to celebrate Halloween, the evil's day..It is an ironical month,a bitter-sweet October indeed !

Leaves are changing its color,
Trees are getting dark and naked,
Days are short,nights are longer,
Sun is hiding behind the cloud,
It is getting colder,
There is an eerie in the air,
I feel scared and sick,
Then I smell the aroma of an incense stick,
coming from my motherland ,slow yet quick,
I also hear bells and beats ,
Lots of desserts and many kinds of sweets,
I can hear hymns and prayers,
Someone reminds the world, the ultimate woman power,
It is none other than my dear mother,
The goddess of power ,love and care,
Every year she pays a visit,
Reminds every man a bit,
Do you worship your woman ,or just me,
Do you respect your woman or just me,
Do you stand for any woman or just me,
Do you really love your woman or just me,
Celebrate all women, or you'll see ,
She is the creator and she is the destructor,
She is the nurturer, she is the challenger,
She is the guide ,she is the mukthi,
Appreciate every woman, that is the bhakthi,
I am her and she is me  ,the ultimate shakthi.....

Just a small poem (I think :D),dedicated to Durga puja in India..missing India especially North India..missing durga pujas..Lovely yet fierce devi maa idols, pandals everywhere, tasty simple prasads, fairs and local foods,Bollywood songs etc etc..reminds me my childhood days...Damn Nostalgic !!

Wishing all my friends a happy and blessed Navarathri - May Maa Durga bless you and your family with good health and happiness forever...May the idol of maa Durga remind every guy that she represents every woman and she should be always respected!...May every woman remind herself that she is the shakthi ,own it -to destroy evil and promote goodness around!! ...May we always cherish our Indian culture in a typical traditional way ...May everyday be a celebration in our life .....

Happy Navarathri !!

Jai Mata di,
